Yuma, Arizona (May, 2023)- The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., College of Health Careers proudly celebrated the Direct Care Worker Graduation with a total of 17 students from PPEP Tech High School, on May 24, 2023 at the San Luis Medical Mall conference center. The students highlighted the leadership and guidance received by CHC Instructor Pablo Vargas, who they said inspired them in their lives. Anhely Perez Islas quoted Latin American writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez by saying "You may be one person in this world, but for one person you can mean the world," meaning how empowered they felt by having Mr. Vargas not only as an Instructor, but as a mentor. Ms. Monica Berumen PPEP Tech High School Principal acknowledged the support the Learning Center had from the College of Health Careers for preparing students for the Arizona workforce. Graduates are Yaslin Aguilar, Adriana Alarcon, Amy Alonso, Hetzemani Estrada, Jonathan A. Guzman, Mayrani Hernandez, Andrea Herrera, Stephanie Hughes, Rosa Moreno, Edel Ochoa, Marely Ortiz, Oscar Pena, Anhely Perez, Ximena Rochin, Steven Ruiz, Gianluca Ureta, and Daniela Vazquez. The RCBH/College of Health Careers mission is to provide quality health care and health care professional training in medically underserved populations throughout Western Arizona and the Arizona/Mexico border region.
